2025 Firefighter of the Year

Chief Dylan Derbonne has served as the Chief of Fire Communications for the Alexandria Fire Department and has made transformative improvements over the past year. Under his leadership, the department’s communication division has seen significant upgrades, particularly in 911 call processing times. Thanks to his innovative approach, the efficiency of call dispatching improved from 75% to 93%, with an average dispatch time of just 64 seconds. These enhancements have led to faster firefighter response times and better emergency outcomes.

Chief Derbonne also introduced advanced communication technology that allows precise location tracking of 911 callers, further enhancing the department’s ability to handle emergencies in real-time. His commitment to public safety and forward-thinking initiatives make him a strong candidate for the Kiwanis Club Firefighter of the Year Award.
